The Reading Circle Enters the Fae Realm

June happened to be the month we decided to go with Fantasy with a little bit of Dark romance. Our pick? Quicksilver by Callie Hart. Callie Hart, by the way, has dark hair and blue eyes just like Saeris Fane, maybe she imagined herself as her main character. Hopefully she found her Kingfisher(No, not the beer for sure). She is known to get into the world of fae, magic and alchemy. And if you were just beginning your fantasy journey, this is the perfect book to start with.

Quicksilver follows the story of Saeris Fane, who has spent her life in the third ward of Zilvaren(Silver City). Life in the third ward was harsh. The queen, Madra, has left the ward barely enough water and food. Most of the people in the third ward have been forced to rely on trade, bargains and theft just to make it through another day.

Desperate times don’t create thieves, they reveal what people are willing to do to survive. Saeris is caught stealing by one of Madra’s guardians. What begins as a simple interrogation quickly turns into something much bigger. A mysterious gauntlet, a desperate escape, and a single decision set events in motion that will change far more than Saeris ever imagined. The real question is: what happens when a girl who has spent her whole life fighting to survive suddenly finds herself holding the key to something far more dangerous than hunger?
